Personal Portal
Very dark compared to my midterm project site page but I love how it turns out. There is lots of open space. I had some trouble with CSS alignment at first so I just settled for the left corner  :P

Plumeris Collections

This pretty much uses the same color hex code as my personal portal page but it is much brighter, thanks to the blue background - which was inverted from the original dark purple. I wanted a "clean" look since the site will be text heavy.

Finished the design for my midterm project. I'll post the screenshot for it later.

I hate people who cheat, especially when they don't have the decency to make it less obvious or the prize for winning is literally nothing.

yep, calqued is in everyone english's vocabulary, right up there with xenias and all the other words I have to look up on dictionary.com right now.

in respond to sandgirl's comment in my previous post

hi! yes robots could be programmed to be ethical/emotional but just what type of ethics are we talkin about here? what if the programmer doesn't have the same ethics as you? who's to say what the norm is for robot feelings since most humans can't control their own or even act in an ethical manner? just sayin..

common sense i guess.

lets just pretend people who are compassionate will do option 1, people who just don't care will do option 2, and people who are jerk will go for 3.

example 1 - you see someone who spill their grocery in a supermarket. you have these 3 options:

1. help him/her pick stuff up
2. look away
3. laugh at him/her

in this scenario, majority will do 2. yes, this is based on my experienced in a local supermarket recently.

example 2 - you see an old lady fell down in a supermarket

1. help him
2. look away
3. laugh at

in this scenario, majority will do 1.

most human do and can control their act. it's whether they want to do it or not. they help people/make judgment based on the severity of the problems. same can be done on robots. program them to either option 1/2/3. how they act is really based on the option picked.

since the subject of robots came up on monday in class, one person mentioned that robot is incapable of "feelings" or acting on emotions. I sort of disagree with that. Lets just pretend robots is a computer that function based on an "if or else" statement. Wouldn't that solve all problem relating to emotion. Robots can be injected with problems and likewise solution is already set up. If option 1 as a solution to problem A is not "ethical", they can proceed to option 2.

What I'm saying is, sure robot is not capable of making "ethical/emotional" decision on their own but they can always be programmed to do so...

I'm not used to this "new" web 2.0 stuff, or is it web 3.0 now? Back when I first started out making anime/manga related web design stuff for my own fan site, basic HTML 4 and CSS 2 was good enough. Nowadays, everything is minimized to very basic color:

Techie/Gaming site: dark dray/blue/orange/neon green
Business site: white/orange/green

I guess I like to see more color schemes. It's getting boring seeing the same color everytime now.
